Sun, 28 September 2008 ![]() Most artists who have drawn characters for Champions of the Galaxy have not been familiar with the game and its fans when tapped to make the visual representations of the men and women who do battle in our far-flung future. Werner Mueck not only knew what COTG was when he became the official artist for the Promoter Madness sets (and now for POW, as well), he had done possibly hundreds of bootleg characters for game fans before getting a regular job from Filsinger Games. As a result, his artwork has consistently shown a dedication to the concepts the game embodies, and as anyone who has worked with him (myself included) can tell you, he's everything you want in a collaborator -- quick but thorough, creative but able to work within a framework, and above all a guy not to take himself too seriously. You'll see what I mean in this post-GalactiCon conversation with perhaps the most prolific artist in COTG history. Running time: about 17 minutes. Comments[1] |
